Description
Many UK homes built between 1960 and 1990 still have outdated fuse boxes and undersized wiring that cannot cope with modern demands. This service specifically addresses these risks. We remove old rewirable fuse boards and install new consumer units to the latest BS 7671 standards, with MCBs and RCBOs protecting every circuit. We inspect the entire installation and, where necessary, replace ageing cables that have poor insulation or lack an earth – upgrading old two‑core lighting cables to modern three‑core with earth, replacing aluminium conductors with copper, and adding extra dedicated circuits for kitchens, outdoors, EV chargers, etc. We also check and improve your earthing system, installing a new earth electrode (TT) or verifying TN‑C‑S continuity. After the upgrade, comprehensive testing (insulation resistance, loop impedance, RCD performance) is carried out, and we issue either a Minor Works Certificate or a full Electrical Installation Certificate. We can also notify Building Control on your behalf to ensure full legal compliance.
